I was smoking on average 25 a day and not only was it expensive, it was bad for my health and affecting my relationship with my partner. He found my smokey breath repellant and one day gave me an ultimatum, it's me or the fags! <br /><br />Obviously, I chose him because he's kind, generous and loving. A cigarette isn't going to keep you warm at night. I found the whole process incredibly stressful but I was determined to do it. My partner was supportive of my decision, thrilled he had won over my little white death sticks. After another horrendous monday morning at work I was at the end of my tether, sobbing down the phone to my cousin that this was just all too hard. This is when she suggested I try knitting to keep my hands occupied. She invited me to her house and taught me the basics. To this day, I credit her with saving my relationship. <br /><br />A few years later, I've developed a more healthy addiction - knitting! I've been knitting so much that I've had to have a think about how I can fund my habit and continue buying beautiful wools that I can make into exquisite items.
